| Registration is now Open for the 3rd Annual Tour de Guahan
|
Registration for the 3rd annual Tour de Guahan opened on January 2nd. The Tour de Guahan (TDG) will be held on Sunday February 26, 2012 in Ipan Talofofo.
This year’s event will include the same solo and team race course as last year, together with all of the same great race giveaways and support. In addition, the TDG will be adding a 60km Fun Ride that will take riders on the Southern loop portion of the race course. This non-competitive ride will be fully supported with support vehicles and hydration stations. The addition of the Fun Ride was been suggested by Guam’s tourism industry as a way of increasing rider participation out of Japan. As such, the Fun Ride will take the place of the Guam Long Ride that was conducted by JTB earlier in January 2010. Click here for a downloadable application for the Fun Ride event.
Stay tuned to this website for further updates about the event as they come available.

| Malcolm Rudolph Wins the 2nd Annual Tour of Guahan
|
Australian elite rider, Malcolm Rudolph (Team Jayco Skins) obliterated the opposition earlier today easily winning the 2nd edition of the Tour of Guahan. The victory backs up his impressive 2nd in the 2010 Tour of Saipan in December, and follows an impressive showing in the recent Perth Criterium Series in Australia, and a solid performance in the 2011 Tour of Wellington (NZ). Rudolph showed his absolute class today, reproducing the type of form that saw him win the 2009 Grafton to Inverell Classic in Australia, the 2009 Tour of Jakarta and the Points Jersey at the 2009 Tour of Gippsland (Australia). He was also a bronze medallist in the 2010 U23 Australian Criterium Championship. The only breakaway of the day was formed right from the outset and included Rudolph and fellow Australian, Kyle Bateson, American mountainbiker, Chris Peariso, Peter Lombard, Kenji Hashimoto and Shimpei Hamada.. Bateson punctured early in the race and did well to ride his way back to the front of the race. “The start was a pretty relaxed roll-out, and then Kyle punctured after about 5 k so he had a bit of a hard race” Rudolph told the waiting media after the win.“The start was flat and pretty much head wind all the way until we got to the bottom of the island.
